What we process, and why
Where you contact the clinic — by e-mail, by telephone or through a form on this site — we process the identification and contact details you choose to give us, together with the content of your message, for the sole purpose of answering you and, where relevant, arranging an appointment. Clinical information given in the course of treatment is health data, a special category under Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation, and is processed for the provision of health care under Article 9(2)(h), subject to medical confidentiality.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept only for as long as it takes to deal with the enquiry and any follow-up. Clinical records are retained for the periods Portuguese law requires of a health care provider, after which they are destroyed or irreversibly anonymised.
Who else sees it
Your data is not sold and is not used for advertising. It is disclosed only to the clinicians involved in your care, to service providers acting on our written instructions, and to public authorities where the law obliges us to.
Your rights
You may ask us for access to your data, for its correction or erasure, for the restriction of its processing, and for its portability; where processing rests on consent you may withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting what was done beforehand. If you believe your data has been handled improperly you may complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.
